The contest is open to all high school students, grades 9-12.This year’s topic is Food Security.
Submissions include a 600-750 word personal essay and a video of the essay
Students must submit their essay and video of the speech by April 22, 2022 to Lynn Briggs, Director of Community and Media Relations for Isle of Wight County Schools, at [email protected] The application process must be completed in its entirety online no later than 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2022.
A local committee will select one submission to represent Isle of Wight County Schools in the VSBA contest.
The top 3 finalists in the VSBA contest will each receive a $1,000 scholarship and present their speech at the 2022 VSBA Conference on Education held in Richmond on July 19, 2022.
