About Dr. Hodgkiss
Dr. Melinda Hodgkiss is a licensed professional educator with 20 years of hands-on instructional/administrative experience. She graduated from Christopher Newport University in 2005 and 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Master of Arts degree in Teaching, respectively. In 2012, she became a National Board Certified Teacher (Middle Childhood Generalist), which is a distinction held by 3% of teachers nationwide. In 2020, she was awarded an Education Specialist (Ed.S) degree for Educational Leadership from Old Dominion University. A Ph.D in Educational Leadership was awarded by Old Dominion University in 2025. Dr. Hodgkiss joined IWCS in 2018 and has served in the roles of teacher, Instructional Coach, and Assistant Principal throughout her time in the division.
